Recorded in January 2022 between what would have been his 75th birthday and the sixth anniversary of his death, this nine-hour sprawl chronologically recounts and reexamines the ever-changing artistry of David Bowie. What began as an attempt to select just one song from each of his 28 studio albums soon morphed into a fuller career portrait, encompassing everything from his earliest recordings to his rarest remixes and soundtrack obscurities. Produced live in two lengthy sessions — the better to conjure heavy emotions, especially once the needle drops on ‘Blackstar’ — the series has since been divided into six segments.
